Ground chicken has become a popular choice for those looking to reduce their red meat intake while still enjoying the juicy goodness of a burger. One of the primary benefits of using ground chicken is its lower fat content compared to traditional beef. While beef can be rich and delectable, it often comes with higher levels of saturated fat, which can impact heart health. Ground chicken, on the other hand, is leaner, making it a wise choice for those watching their fat intake.

Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon paprika

1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

Burger buns (4)

Lettuce and tomato slices (for serving)

Optional: garlic aioli or your favorite burger sauce

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.

Form Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1 inch thick.

Cook the Patties: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken patties to the skillet. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the burgers are golden brown.

Toast the Buns: While the burgers are cooking, you can toast the burger buns lightly on a separate skillet or grill, if desired.

Assemble the Burgers: Once the patties are done, place each burger patty on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Top with lettuce, tomato, and any sauces you prefer. Place the top half of the bun over the toppings.

Serve: Serve your White Cheddar and Spinach Chicken Burgers warm, alongside sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.
