Ingredients

For the Steak:

1 pound flank steak

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup honey

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

1 tablespoon sesame oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 green onions, finely chopped (for garnish)

For the Rotini:

8 ounces rotini pasta

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

Marinate the Steak:

In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, rice vinegar, grated ginger, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Place the flank steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish, pour the marinade over it, and seal it tightly. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably for 2 hours for deeper flavor.

      Cook the Rotini:

While the steak is marinating, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the rotini and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

          Saute the Vegetables:

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the cherry tomatoes and red pepper flakes (if using), seasoning with salt and pepper. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the tomatoes start to blister and soften.

              Combine Pasta and Veggies:

Add the cooked rotini to the skillet with the tomatoes. Stir in the chopped basil and mix everything together until well combined. Set aside and keep warm.

                  Cook the Steak:

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade (discard marinade) and grill for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain.

                      Serve:

Plate the rotini and top with sliced steak. Drizzle with any remaining juices from the skillet and garnish with chopped green onions. Enjoy your flavorful and sticky honey garlic steak with rotini!
