1 lb Italian sausage, crumbled

1 lb thinly sliced pepperoni

1 cup sliced green bell peppers

1 cup sliced red onion

1 cup sliced mushrooms

1 cup marinara sauce

12 slider buns

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup provolone cheese, shredded

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and black pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the crumbled Italian sausage. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease if necessary.

      Add Vegetables: To the skillet, add the sliced green bell peppers, red onion, and mushrooms. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.

        Incorporate Marinara: Pour in the marinara sauce and stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Allow the mixture to simmer for another 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat.

          Prepare the Buns: Cut the slider buns in half. Place the bottom halves into a greased baking dish.

            Build the Sliders: Layer the cooked sausage and vegetable mixture evenly over the bottom halves of the buns. Next, add a layer of pepperoni slices followed by the shredded mozzarella and provolone cheese.

              Top and Oil: Place the top halves of the slider buns on the assembled sandwiches. Brush the tops with olive oil and sprinkle a little additional Italian seasoning for flavor.

                Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the buns are lightly golden.

                  Garnish and Serve: Once out of the oven, let cool slightly. Optionally garnish with fresh basil leaves. Slice the sliders and serve warm.
