4 slices of sourdough bread

8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced

1 medium ripe tomato, sliced

1/4 cup fresh basil leaves

2 tablespoons pesto sauce

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

Salt, to taste

Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Balsamic glaze (optional, for drizzling)

Prepare the Ingredients: Begin by slicing the fresh mozzarella and ripe tomato. Set aside the basil leaves for layering.

    Butter the Bread: Spread a thin layer of softened butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.

      Assemble the Sandwich: On the unbuttered side of two slices, layer the mozzarella cheese, followed by slices of tomato, basil leaves, and a drizzle of pesto sauce. Sprinkle with salt and freshly cracked black pepper for added flavor.
