1 cup fresh basil leaves, torn

3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: 1/4 cup pine nuts, toasted

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to cool completely. Set aside.

Prep Ingredients: While the pasta is cooking, prepare your other ingredients. Halve the cherry tomatoes, drain the mozzarella balls, and tear the basil leaves into smaller pieces.

Make the Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Combine Everything: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled pasta, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and basil. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently to coat all the ingredients evenly.

Add Optional Ingredients: If using, add the toasted pine nuts for an extra crunch.

Serve and Enjoy: Let the salad sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld before serving. Enjoy your fresh and delicious Caprese Pasta Salad!
