Ingredients

1 lb (450g) flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain

2 cups broccoli florets

1/4 cup oyster sauce

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/4 cup beef broth

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon ginger, minced

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

Cooked white rice, for serving

Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, mix the sliced flank steak with oyster sauce, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Blanch the Broccoli: In a pot of boiling water, add broccoli florets and blanch for 2 minutes. Remove and immediately immerse in ice water to stop cooking. Drain and set aside.

Heat Oils: In a large wok or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over high heat until shimmering. Add sesame oil for flavor.

Stir-Fry Beef: Add the marinated beef in a single layer. Let it sear without stirring for about 2 minutes, then stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove from the wok and set aside.

Cook Aromatics: In the same wok, add minced garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Combine Ingredients: Return the beef to the wok, add the blanched broccoli, and pour in the beef broth. Stir everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through and everything is well coated.

Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot over a bed of white rice, garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
