Ingredients

1 lb (450g) beef flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece ginger, grated

1 bell pepper, thinly sliced (red, green, or yellow)

1 cup broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon sugar

Salt and black pepper to taste

Cooked jasmine rice or noodles for serving

Green onions, chopped for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with oyster sauce, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well to coat the beef evenly. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Preparation: While the beef marinates, prepare the vegetables. Slice the bell pepper and wash the broccoli.

Cook the Beef: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer (you may need to do this in batches). Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until the beef is browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté Aromatics: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add Vegetables: Toss in the sliced bell pepper and broccoli florets. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Combine Everything: Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Add sesame oil, sugar, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir everything together until well combined and heated through, about 1-2 minutes.

Serve: Serve hot over cooked jasmine rice or noodles, and garnish with chopped green onions.
