Ingredients

For the Bread:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup sour cream

1 cup peeled and diced apples (about 2 medium apples)

1 tsp cinnamon

For the Cheesecake Swirl:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 large egg

For the Apple Crisp Topping:

1/2 cup rolled oats

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.

    Make the Bread Batter:

      - In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

        - In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

          - Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract and sour cream until well combined.

            - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in the diced apples and cinnamon.

              Prepare the Cheesecake Layer:

                - In a separate bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with granulated sugar and vanilla extract until smooth. Beat in the egg until well blended.

                  Layer the Mixtures:

                    - Pour half of the apple bread batter into the prepared loaf pan.

                      - Carefully spoon the cheesecake mixture over the batter, spreading it evenly.

                        - Top the cheesecake layer with the remaining apple bread batter, smoothing the top.

                          Make the Crisp Topping:

                            - In a small bowl, combine the rolled oats, brown sugar, all-purpose flour, cinnamon, and melted butter. Mix well until crumbly.

                              - Sprinkle the crisp topping evenly over the batter in the loaf pan.

Bake the Bread: Bake in the preheated oven for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top browns too quickly, loosely cover with aluminum foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.

                                  Cool and Serve:

                                    - Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

                                      - Slice and serve warm or at room temperature, and enjoy the delightful combination of apple, cheesecake, and crisp topping!
